Ideally, every member will vote and then post a reason, with a brief argument in favour of their view. I would ask that the poll is allowed to run for a little while before people start proper discussions, so we can get a picture of the spread of ideas unswayed by further debate.
I started this because the thread previously dealing with it petered out without reaching a clear conclusion. Finally, just to point out, this isn't to choose the only other habitable obect in the system, but to find a secondary focus for the project - those ideas that can't work so well on the Bounty can be moved to the secondary site with minimum fuss, to build up a system that has a rich and detailed setting.
Thanks.

I'll start the ball rolling. I would like to have an industrial moon or planetoid, controlled by the Adeptus Mechanicus and inhabited mainly by workmen of a single allied guild or trade league. This gives a base for the AdMech that is off world, keeping the NPCs in any campaign here very mobile should it get too hot on the ground, and adds a simple layer to the political and social setup of the planet. Travel between the moon and planet would be reasonably easy for high-ranking AdMech personalites and the heads of the allied trade league, but all others would have trouble getting onto such flights and even then be subjected to the most stringent security checks. Forf those of you who have read the Eisenhorn trilogy, I envision something similar to the mining planetoid the Lith is found on, wothout hte chaotic influence; a series of extensive mining bases tha act as homes for the long-ranging prospector teams of both AdMech and Trader personnel. As such the planet would be sparsely populated, leaving lots of surface space for isolated laboratories. Here individual Magii and their staff can carry out their experiments in privacy and peace, away fromprying eyes and interruption. Unfortunately, they are also away from supply chains and easy communication with security forces...

I would be inclinded to there being another planet/moon of either solely mining or solely agriculture(gigantic fields the size of towns/cities harvested by monster machines)
But certainly only one other important planet/orbital body should be in the system really.

I agree only one other which we give any attention, and so we might as well only have one other planetoid or moon. After all, most of the systems detectable by scientists today (65.3%, in fact) have planets.
I'd agree with Nephew. Though the Admech has a great deal of control on Bounty, they are not the sole rulers, and even on the Bergs they don't have complete power. Judging by the normal paranoid and control-seeking attidtude they go by, I'd say they'd like a base they can completely lay claim to. Hence a moon, partly industrial, and partly just as an administrative base for the Admech on Bounty.
But one of my pet 40K hates is that every planet has to be monopurposed - it's just not realistic. Certainly some planets would onyl really be suitable for one landuse, but many would be suitable for more, and it would be significantly more efficient to have at least a little agriculture, mining, habitation etc on each planet, even if there is a leaning towards one activity. Take Bounty. As soon as we go itno it in any detail we come up with the fact that there just have to be multiple landuses, as nothing else is realistic, even though the main one is fuel-collection.
So while our moon would not be heavily populated (probably several underground complexes and some large industrial towns), let's also have some small mining operations and a large system of hydroponic, underground farming.
We could make it like Earth's moon, large enough that the two are technically a double planet (for any that don't know, that's defined by orbit, and the moon inluences the Earth's orbit significantly enough, due to size and therefore mass and therefore gravity well, that we are classified as twin planets.

indeed, i would expect bounty to have an amount of logging, mining and agriculture - the later probably only being doable on the numerous small islands that surround the continental mass.
