Sorry Bolshevik, that's not what i meant. I mean that the traditional gothic spire look I mentioned needed a change for this scenario, a change which you have done in your graphic there, and which I like a lot.

...this has been discused before, the rock would have to be porus to float, there are no bones about that, as has the fact there they will no doubt be rock with metal structures coming out of them both above and below the waterline. We all appear to have agreed that these are points nessesary in the design. And personally Orks never crossed my mind when i first proposed the floating rock idea.

Pretty much agree with Vendile and the rock defenders so far...I quite like the idea...

I'll admit that I'm ok with the rock idea,
just seems a little off but of course I also suggetsed the hydrids of rock and metal and whole metal so we can have a mix in the whole thing.
Also modelling a rock in 3d is actually a pain in the ass (oh the polygons!!!)

Are we fairly settled on floating rocks as the basis for the construction of the Hives then? Can it be put into teh 'Finished - DNT' file?

It would seem so - and if no one else questions that by tomorrow afternoon, this, along with a couple of others, will find its way to the soon to be created completed discussions forum...
EDIT: Well, no one has - I'll just edit a brief summing up into the opener, and then move it
